Performance of concrete beams partially/fully reinforced with glass fiber polymer bars

Abstract One of the major advantages using glass fiber-reinforced polymer bars as a replacement to traditional steel-reinforced is its lightweight and high-resistant corrosion. This research focuses on performance concrete beams partially/fully reinforced with 50% GFRP were used reinforce partially at flexural zone. While 100% fully compression zones different compressive strength. study reported test results 6 dimensions 150 × 200mm 1700-mm clear span length subjected four-point loading system. The tested divided into three groups; first one refers bar effect. second group referring effect strength, while third volume ratio. Using longitudinal full or partial steel reinforcement led an increase in failure load capacity average crack width, decrease ductility was lower number cracks. Increasing strength more compatible enhanced compared normal concrete.
